The Caring Life of Berean Baptist Church

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I
have loved you, you also should love one another.
John 13.34

Berean Baptist Church takes seriously the ministry of
compassion. We are energized by opportunities to care for others,
whether they are already a part of the church or friends from the
community. As we experience God's love through existing church
relationships, we are also excited by opportunities to share God's
love with others. We practice caring through phone calls, visits and
mailing cards. We share God's love by making meals to share with
families, delivering food, and singing Happy Birthday in worship.
It is this ability to care that energizes other areas of ministry. Our
Outreach programs; Oil program, Clothes Closet, Food Closet, and
other ministries of compassion, such as the Ashton Court craft
group, and the many good works done by the 3B's, all of which
grow from our compassion.

The experience of an authentic caring community is not only
what compels us to care for others, it is what brings others to us.

I noticed people waiting to linger after church to visit and I
look forward to coming, to holding hands at the end [of
communion] and sing “Bind Us Together” but I am allowed
to be different too.

'The first time I came to BBC I was at an emotional low. I
didn't know where to go to church when I came upon a
little church called BBC. People at Berean welcomed me with open arms and from that day forward I
know where I belonged. BBC is my life.'

'BBC intervened in my life when we were about to lose
everything.'

At the worst times in my life, BBC was always there for me.
